UK–TR Transit Times: Realistic Expectations by Mode

Road (Part Load and Full Load)

Road is the primary mode on the Turkey–UK corridor. Current transit times:

  • Part load (groupage): 7–10 working days on average. Includes consolidation, border crossing, and UK customs handling.
  • Full truck load (FTL): 5–7 working days on average. Direct loading, single-customer trailer.

These numbers apply under normal conditions. Border congestion, documentation gaps or customs inspections can extend the timing.

Speedy Van Service

Our Speedy Van service is the express alternative to airfreight:

  • Turkey–Balkans: 24 hours
  • Turkey–Mid Europe: 48 hours
  • UK / Spain–Turkey: 72 hours

Maximum payload is 1000 kg. The fastest road-based option for urgent, smaller shipments.

Sea Freight

Sea is the most cost-effective mode but transit is long. FCL from Turkish ports to UK ports averages 2–3 weeks. Consolidated LCL loads typically run 3–4 weeks. Low unit cost requires high volume and a flexible delivery schedule.

China–UK runs, by comparison, are around 3 weeks.

Airfreight

Air is for time-critical cargo. Turkey–UK air freight:

  • Direct uplift days: 1–2 days (door-to-door 3–4 days with customs)
  • Consolidated air freight: 3–5 days

Unit cost is high; the right choice for low-volume, high-value or genuinely urgent cargo.

Which to Pick?

| Scenario | Recommended Mode | |---|---| | 1–5 pallets, routine delivery | Road part load | | Full trailer, controlled timing | Road FTL | | 50–500 kg, urgent | Speedy Van | | High volume, flexible schedule | Sea | | High value, very urgent | Air |

Don't decide on time alone — look at cost + risk + flexibility together. Our operations team can recommend the best option for your specific cargo.
